Dodgers Sweep Pirates, Best Start Since 1981

The Dodgers are 6-1 for the first time since 1981, the first season they played after I was born. We just finished our first home series of the year with a sweep and here are my videos of the three wins:

Sorry for going so long without any new posts. When the MLBlogs site design was changed, it messed up the formatting on my previous posts and I couldn’t figure out how to make new posts for a while, which frustrated me to the point of giving up on it. Also, this horrendous event made me not care about videos for a while:

Here’s the TV footage of that homer:

Ethier’s amazing and Broxton needs to be in the minors instantly.

Amazing game.  Excited for the new homestand that starts tonight, which hopefully will be all about Ethier extending his hit streak to 30 games by the end of it!

I think that says it all pretty much.

Kemp Walks Off to Beat Cardinals — April 17, 2011

Watch:

This was an awesome game.  Chad Billingsley and Chris Carpenter pitched eight great innings each, setting up the dramatic ninth.  I adore walk-offs.  And Matt Kemp’s my favorite player.  So that was a great day.  Nice to snap the five-game losing streak.
My buddy Thomas from the end of the video, he was with me the night Vin Scully made fun of me.  We found each other on facebook recently and I gave him my extra ticket for this game.  He loved it.

Dodgers Lose Fifth Straight Game — April 16, 2011

Watch:

What Jaime Garcia did is inexcusable.  You’ve got Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday in the cage, hitting rockets left and right at people in the stands, and he’s drawing their attention away, trying to get them to beg him for a baseball, while they’re right in the line of fire, and then he doesn’t even throw it!  He’s basically saying “I’m trying to get you killed just for fun and I hate you” to Dodgers fans.  This is exactly what Barry Zito was doing which allowed this to happen:

And it’s what Tim Lincecum was doing when the girl at 0:20 in this video was hit in the face:
Lincecum and Zito weren’t being jerks about it, though. They thought they were being nice, seeking out a fan to toss a ball to.  They were simply morons, but innocent morons. Garcia, on the other hand, especially with PUJOLS and HOLLIDAY up, is guilty and he should be suspended for 50 games at least.
Unfortunately this happens pretty often, the Zito/Lincecum cases and the Garcia garbage. Every major leaguer and minor leaguer should be taught batting practice safety skills before they’re allowed on the field.

Pujols Hits Two Homers on Jackie Robinson Day — April 15, 2011

Another horrible game.
